WORKSHOP: Foraging & Wild Food with Alan Powell
The Third Tuesday Workshop on September 19th will feature Alan Powell, Master Forager & wild food expert. He will take us on a walk around TSU farm to discover wild edibles. He will share his expertise in this area, identifying edible plants and discussing their nutritional values during this 2-hour experience.
After lunch, guest will be guided on valuable food safety information, ranging from farm packaging and distribution to consumer preparation. This discussion will be led by TSU Specialist Aliyar Fouladkhah, a certified food scientist. This is an important topic as indicated by the Centers for Disease Control statistic that 1 in 6 Americans are affected by foodborne illnesses.
