Community Food Advocates is assisting Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) in gathering information from farmers interested in supplying MNPS with certain produce items in the coming years. MNPS’ Farm to School program aims to provide fresh, high-quality produce to our students, and to educate students about food and agriculture.
Interested farmers are invited to fill out and submit a Farm to School Partner Questionnaire. This short survey will request general information from farmers in the region interested in selling to MNPS during the 2015-2016 growing season and beyond. For the purposes of this solicitation “local” is defined as within roughly 250 miles of Nashville.
MNPS will use this information to
Determine realistic expectations and goals for Farm to School in Nashville
Develop a MNPS Farm to School plan
Follow up with interested farmers to gather specific information regarding their product and partnership potential
