GRAND OPENING: Richland Park Farmer’s Market – May 7th
Get Ready
Our market is a week and a half away from the grand opening on Saturday May 7th. The Sylvan park and Nations neighborhoods are eager to support our local growers and the return of the farmers market.

Brief Meeting on site
We will have a brief site meeting this coming Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m. to familiarize vendors on the market location and layout. This is a non mandatory meeting for vendors but if you have any questions about the market that would be the time to ask us. We will meet to the right of the library at Richland park, in front of the rose garden.

Market Hours and Load In
The market is staged in grassy lot to the right of the library. We will have a vendor list location map available and emailed to everyone a few days before the market and also this Saturday at the meeting. All vendors are required to unload and then move their car off the grass area. No parking of vehicles on the grass. If you have a towed trailer, we can unhook the trailer from truck and leave onsite. Food trucks will be staged along the front of the market parallel to the pavement. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. rain or shine each Saturday. Vendors are required to be onsite at 8:30 a.m. and stay til end of the market. Late vendors may be denied admission because it is a safety issue and not feasible to have vehicles in the market area once it starts.

Manager Introduction
Many of you may know our fabulous Mary Self who will be joining us at the Richland Park market as manager. Mary is joining us from the 12th south farmers market and we know she will be bringing some of the “spark” that makes her market so successful and well attended. You will see her every week helping coordinate vendors, greeting customers with enthusiasm and maintaining order to our market chaos. Help us welcome Mary this Saturday at the meeting or on that first market day May 7th. For those of you who show up LATE for a farmers market, you will experience the “wrath of Mary” so don’t be late. All vendors should be at the park no later than 8:30 a.m. each week.

Special Festival on May 21st
Local Residents and long time market supporters are hosting a festival centered and highlighting the market on Saturday May 21st. Its scheduled to be a community festival celebrating the farmers market, local artists and local musicians. They have asked or given the opportunity for our farmers market vendors to be a part of this festival by staying longer that day. It will be an extended day til 4:30 p.m. Market vendors are not required to stay that day but are encouraged. We think their will be a large crowd for the event so sales should be brisk.

Social Media
Please help us get the word out about our farmers market by posting it on your social media pages and letting your customers know about the opening. We have created a FB event which you can share. Connect with our facebook page and our Instagram account (use those hashtags !)

Thank you all,
