SEEKING: Development and Communications Director: Cornicopia Institute
Cornucopia is an organic industry watchdog. This person will oversee development efforts and be intimately involved with its communications strategies and execution.
Primary responsibilities include:
Develop, implement and monitor an annual fundraising plan
Write funding proposals and grant reports to foundation and corporate funders
Research foundation, corporate, major donor, prospects
Carry out regular direct mail campaigns
Work closely with Cornucopia’s Codirectors and Board members to identify and cultivate major gift prospects and communication strategies
Coordinate online giving strategies
Help plan networking and fundraising events, solicit in-kind donations
Write content as necessary for quarterly newsletter, enews, website, and other communication vehicles, coordinate with other staff as needed in on newsletter production
Coordinate research report publication
Oversee the Communications and Development staff assistant to help expand fundraising and communications opportunities
Other duties as assigned
We seek an individual with a true passion and enthusiasm for protecting the integrity of organic food and agriculture, and the family farmers who produce it. Although we desire a seasoned professional with a proven record of performance, we will entertain applications from recent graduates with an advanced degree in a program that relates to communications and business development.
