Garden Center operators are invited to join a Zoom session to ask questions and share ideas to help protect the health of customers and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Stuart Cofer, Cofer Home and Garden, will discuss the changes they’ve made inside their store and to outdoor sales areas to incorporate social distancing and heighten sanitation practices, as well as tips for responsibly promoting shopping during COVID-19. Cofer’s was establish in 1922 and as Georgia’s longest running family-owned garden center, they aggressively implemented cutting-edge operational changes to make sure they are making shopping at their garden center a low risk experience for their customers and staff and are in business long after the pandemic. UT Extension Specialists from the Department of Plant Sciences, Department of Food Science and Center for Profitable Agriculture along with representatives of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture will be available to field questions, identify resources and offer possible solutions.
